2026 Asian Journalism Forum

2026年05月21日 | 亞洲新聞專業論壇, 最新消息

To promote professional exchange among journalists across Asia and to share insights into media development, the Foundation for Excellent Journalism Award has hosted the Asian Journalism Forum annually since 2013. Each year, the Forum welcomes outstanding journalists from across the region—including Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Myanmar, China, and Hong Kong—for in-depth dialogue with their counterparts in Taiwan. Through panel discussions and seminars, participants engage with media professionals, communication scholars, students, and members of the public who are committed to advancing journalism. The forum has earned widespread recognition for fostering meaningful exchange and regional collaboration.

In today’s rapidly evolving digital era, the media landscape is undergoing an unprecedented transformation. AI technology has fundamentally reshaped the news industry, influencing journalism practices, storytelling, and ethical considerations alike. Yet a comprehensive understanding of its overall impact remains limited. This year’s Asian Journalism Forum focuses on the challenges that AI technology poses to newsrooms, bringing together media professionals from across Asia and representatives from Taiwanese news organizations to share their experiences, observations, and perspectives, with the aim of fostering a more comprehensive understanding of AI’s impact on journalism.

To explore these challenges more thoroughly, the forum will feature six sessions covering a wide range of topics, including the latest AI applications in newsrooms, the impact of AI on news content and storytelling, the evolving role of journalists, the tension and balance between journalistic ethics and technological innovation, the opportunities and challenges facing small and medium-sized media organizations, and strategies for responding to copyright infringement and unauthorized use of news content by technology platforms.
