We, as a profession, need to adapt to these times or we aren’t going to exist as a profession. Direct action—a flotilla, a march, a convoy, or just trying to breach the border—these are all useful ideas, but journalists, as a whole, don’t normally think this way. It is seen as making yourself part of the story or as some stunt. But we are living in extreme times now, and we have to think outside the box. For this profession to survive in a real or meaningful way, we are going to have to shift our mindset as journalists.
