英國報章發行量繼續下跌，在今年7月，大報的年同比跌幅，更甚於小報及中檔市場報紙。
根據英國發行量公信會(Audit Bureau of Circulations)公佈的統計數據，有7份報紙今年7月與去年7月比較，發行量出現兩位數的跌幅。
跌幅最大的是世界上歷史最悠久的星期日報紙–《觀察家報》(The Observer)，下跌21.02%，在7月時平均每週發行量下跌至314,602 份。該報屬於衛報媒體集團(Guardian News & Media)，由於虧損嚴重，一直有傳會結束經營。
值得注意的是，今期的統計數據與前不同，是不計入贈閱報及海外發行部份，所以，也顯得誇大了實際跌幅。
《每日星報》(The Daily Star) 發行量的年同比雖然下跌4.95%，但則比前一個月上升4.1%至平均每日843,229份，理由大概是7月起減價促銷，由20便士減至10便士一份，對提高銷量起了作用。
《每日星報》的姊妹報《星期日每日星報》(The Daily Star Sunday)亦比前一個月上升5.07%，至每週370,032份。
